An eBook is an electronic book usually in PDF format. It’s a book you can carry with you on a flash drive and read anywhere there is a computer or PDF reader available. An eBook makes it very convenient to learn on the run. It is a very small file size which allows anyone to carry a whole library with them. With the advent of the digital age any book title imaginable is already digitized and ready to download usually in a .zip file. A .zip file allows the book to be compressed into an even smaller file size. The smaller size allows more eBooks to be stored in a smaller space. The smaller size also allows it to be easily sent by email or any other electronic means. A free or inexpensive utility will decompress the file and a PDF reader will allow you to read the book on your computer screen. Think about it for the moment, a whole library of books on a flash drive the size of a quarter and getting smaller. Now you can take your favorite books with you anywhere. Imagine your doctor with all the medical books at his finger tips. The mechanic working on your car with the total parts breakdown displayed on a palm pilot. Imagine yourself with a huge collection of your favorite sci-fi thrillers, action, or how to books. The eBook in a roundabout way is helping to fight global warming. It doesn’t take any trees to produce an eBook. So by reading eBooks you are helping the environment and helping yourself to be educated.
